The bottom line of both Agile and Beyond Budgeting

Our world today is full of Agilists, inspired and hard-pressed by a hectically changing world that has given birth to the VUCA business land. Although Beyond Budgeting that’s currently more celebrated in Europe hasn’t risen to the same stardom as Agile on a global scale, it is no less promising in terms of the potential benefits that it offers, nor less revolutionary with regard to the mindset and structural shifts that it entails.

In the official website of Beyond Budgeting organization, 12 principles are registered into two groups — leadership principles and management processes. At heart, the management processes are the tools of empowerment designed to apply the leadership principles in action, with the goal of fostering collaborative and principled leadership enterprise-wide, and bottom-up. It’s safe to say that the whole set of Beyond Budgeting principles are actually entirely centered on people empowerment and leadership development.
