Five C’s of Organizational Resilience
In a VUCA business land, it’s vital for organizations to build up their resilience. It will strengthen their workplace well-being on a continuous basis and greatly contribute to their prosperity far into the future. Resilience enables an organization to adapt to changes quickly, resist disruptions smoothly, and deal with crises adeptly; it also empowers the individuals in the organization to become more positive, reliable, and productive.
Organizational resilience has five primary components — Centering, Confidence, Commitment, Community, and Compassion. Each of them can be developed with appropriate training, modeling, and cultural integration.
· Centering: This component is mainly devoted to employees’ wellness. When people are healthy, both physically and psychologically, they will be able to cope with stress and remain productive at workplace. This part of resilience can be developed by helping employees achieve work life balance; providing them with trainings for stress management, healthy diet and fitness, and classes of mindfulness meditation, relaxation techniques, and yoga, etc.
· Confidence: When employees become competent, they obtain confidence and develop courage to face problems. This can be achieved by creating challenges for employees to overcome; giving them tasks that are just above their current level of…
